Speech Therapy Services

Aphasia
Aphasia after a stroke or brain injury can affect speaking, understanding, reading, or writing. We provide personalized, evidence-based therapy to support language recovery and help individuals communicate more easily in everyday life.
Apraxia of Speech
Apraxia of speech from a stroke or brain injury can make it difficult to coordinate the movements needed for clear speech, even when you know what you want to say. Our therapy focuses on motor planning and practice to help speech become more fluent and functional.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
When speaking is difficult, communication is still possible. We support those who benefit from tools beyond spoken words, such as communication boards, tablets, or speech-generating devices. Whether AAC is needed short-term or long-term, we help individuals find effective ways to express themselves with clarity and confidence.
Cognitive-Communication Disorders
When thinking and communication are disrupted, we help reconnect them. Memory, attention, problem-solving, and executive functioning can all be impacted after brain injury, stroke, or other neurological conditions. We provide targeted strategies to improve thinking skills and support daily communication and independence.
Dysarthria (Slurred Speech)
Dysarthria can make speech sound slurred, slow, or effortful due to muscle weakness or coordination issues often caused by stroke, brain injury, Parkinson’s, ALS, or other neurological conditions. We work on breath support, articulation, and speech strategies to help you communicate more clearly and be better understood at home, work, and in the community.
Dysphagia (Swallowing Disorders)
Helping you eat and drink safely. Swallowing difficulties often follow stroke, brain injury, or progressive neurological disorders. We assess and treat dysphagia to promote safe, efficient, and more comfortable mealtimes, reducing risk and restoring enjoyment.
Fluency Disorders (Stuttering & Cluttering)
Speak with more confidence and ease. We work with adults who stutter or clutter to build self-awareness, reduce communication tension, and develop strategies that support smoother, more confident speech in real-world situations.
Voice Disorders
Neurological conditions, vocal strain, or other medical issues can affect your voice quality and endurance. We offer customized therapy to improve vocal strength, clarity, and comfort for speaking, singing, or social connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Speech therapy helps people improve how they communicate and connect with others. For adults, that might mean working on speaking clearly, understanding conversations, organizing thoughts, or even swallowing safely. A certified speech-language pathologist (SLP) creates a personalized treatment plan based on your goals. Therapy might include practical strategies, conversation practice, cognitive exercises, or tools like communication devices—always tailored to support your everyday life.

Speech therapy is often covered by health insurance, especially when it’s medically necessary (like after a stroke or for a diagnosed disorder). We’ll help you verify your benefits and explain your options if you're paying privately or your insurance is out-of-network (please see our accepted insurances)

If you're having trouble finding the right words, keeping up with conversations, remembering things, organizing your thoughts, or speaking clearly, speech therapy might help. You may also benefit if you’ve had a stroke, concussion, brain injury, or neurological condition and notice changes in how you communicate or think.

It depends! The number of sessions varies from person to person, depending on your goals, how complex the challenges are, and how consistently you're able to practice skills between sessions. Some people see meaningful improvements in just a few weeks, while others may benefit from ongoing support over several months—especially after a stroke, brain injury, or with progressive neurological conditions. We’ll talk about your goals at the start and check in regularly to make sure therapy stays focused, effective, and aligned with what matters most to you.
